THE PARENTING PROJECT

       This series of six programs were featured on WGBH-FM Boston, New England's lightship NPR station, and had an unusual cast:

• David Treadway, the host, a Boston area psychologist whose specialty is working with parents and teens
• Beth Winship, renowned columnist on teen affairs, syndicated nationally
• a cast of six improvisational actors from Boston area theaters

        After an opening skit introducing the focus topic of the program, parent listeners were asked to (anonymously) phone in related problems they were encountering with their teenagers. The actors portrayed these problems "on the fly" and offered different ways to resolve or at least deal with them. The final program was a telecast on WGBH-TV and radio simulcast (never before done at WGBH!). The show received wide listener acclaim. Funding was obtained through a series of corporate grants to our non-profit spin-off, Hole in the Sock Productions.
